Haruan fish (Gabus fish) is a type of local fish that can survive in swamp water conditions and highly favored by the people of South Kalimantan.

This fish is the main ingredient for food, known as Ketupat Kandangan. It is not Ketupat Kandangan if you do not use haruan fish.
